Silicon Dioxide Fumed (Aerosil) also known as pyrogenic silica, is used as a free-flow and anti-caking agent to improve powder properties The resulting powder has an extremely low bulk density and high surface area. It is also used as viscosity increasing agent to thicken and thixotropic liquids and as a desiccant for moisture-sensitive actives, and an anti-settling, thickening, and anti-sagging agent.
