Nonyl Phenol Ethyoxylate (4.5 Mole) is an ethylene oxide condensate of alkyl phenol. It is a colourless liquid soluble in kerosene, vegetable oils, alcohol, glycol ethers, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride and insoluble in water and mineral oil.
It is extensively used as a dispersant for wettable powder type pesticides, an intermediate base material for anionic surfactants, in formulations for finishes, fiber antistat and fiber lubrimayts, and in drycleaninig and as a detergent for vessels (eg. oil tanks).
