Caution
Caustic Potash (Potassium Hydroxide) is a strong alkali that is very soluble in water, and highly corrosive. It is an odourless, flaky solid that is useful for a variety of applications, including the manufacture of soaps, detergents, paint and varnish removers, biodiesel, batteries, fuel cells, and fertilisers.
Being strongly alkaline, potassium hydroxide reacts with various acids, and this acid-base reaction is used for the production of potassium salts.
