Caution
Calcium Carbonate is a naturally occurring form of calcium found in egg shells, marble, limestone, and chalk. It is used as a filler in many cosmetic products and toiletries as an absorbent for perspiration and excess skin oils in powdered form. Insoluble in both water and organic solvents, it is an excellent replacement for microplastics used as binders, film formers, and fillers.
The soft chalky powder is slightly soluble in water and provides an excellent slip and feel with good adhesion. When used in body lotions, body creams, and coloured cream formulas it gives the skin a smooth and silky feel.
