Application

Benzoic Acid is used in cosmetics, personal and skin care products and more like lipsticks, toothpaste, mouthwash, and face wash creams, perfumes, and dyes.
Also used in the manufacture of dyes and insect repellents.

Uses

Benzoic acid is in use in ointments that prevent fungal skin problems.

It is also widely used in combination with salicylic acid for use as an antifungal.

Benzoic Acid is an organic compound that belongs to the family of carboxylic acids. It is an alkyl benzoate preservative that occurs in plants like cherry bark, raspberries, tea, anise, and cassia bark. It has many benefits in skin care products, including anti-aging, soothing, and moisturising properties. This white or colourless crystalline solid is widely used in the manufacture of various cosmetics, dyes, plastics, and insect repellents.

Benzoic Acid is soluble in benzene, carbon tetrachloride, acetone and alcohols, and insoluble in water. Its primary use is in the industrial production of phenol. Topical application of benzoic acid promotes the skin’s ability to retain moisture and improves the quality of both skin and skincare products.
