Caution
Cetrimonium Chloride is a quaternary cationic conditioner. It is commonly used in multiple hair care applications because it has anti-static, anti-frizz, and detangling properties. This ingredient is compatible with non-ionic and cationic surfactants, and most polar solvents and incompatible with anionics, soap, nitrates, heavy metals, oxidants, rubber, and proteins. It has an alcohol-like scent and is soluble in water.
Cetrimonium chloride is also an emulsifier, giving conditioners and shampoos great texture, look, and lather. It also performs well as a surfactant, as it lifts dirt, debris, and oil and reduces static electricity-induced fly-aways.
