Caution
Benzophenone-4, also called Sulisobenzone, is an aromatic ketone with both UVA and UVB absorbing properties that helps filter out harmful UV rays. Commonly used in sunscreens, it is also found in lip balms, perfumes, nail polishes, hair sprays, dyes, and shampoos. This water-soluble UV filter also protects other ingredients from deteriorating under the sun by absorbing, reflecting, or scattering UV rays. It appears as a white or pale yellow powder, readily soluble in propylene glycol, glycerin, ethanol, and isopropyl alcohol.
